Many studies have affirmed that food has a great impact on the development and health of babies. Not just that, the early age deficiency also determines which ailment and diseases children get in their later years of life. If we want optimum growth for our child, it is pivotal not to neglect the importance of food choices. The sooner we teach our child about healthy eating, the lesser the chances of catching an illness. It is not necessary that food which tastes good is beneficial for health. So, don’t feed your child just to satisfy their taste buds; pay attention to their health too. Undeniably, it is impossible to keep kids away from sugary candies and sweets totally; however, keeping balance is imperative.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is crucial for cognitive functionality. The lack of this nutrient can reduce the number of red blood cells in infants and can damage their brains permanently in the worst case. This nutrient is typically found only in animal products. Therefore, introducing eggs, chicken, and meat is pivotal in your child’s daily meal plan.

Vitamin D

For the healthy development of bones and teeth, babies also require vitamin D. This nutrient also helps absorb phosphorus and calcium. Although sunlight is the best source of vitamin D, it is not recommended for babies. Pediatricians always suggest vitamin D supplements to infants. Apart from this, including eggs, dairy products, and fortified cereals also help in improving vitamin D status.

Zinc

Good immunity is required to protect the child against various viruses and bacteria. However, without sufficient amounts of zinc, it is not possible. So, offer your loved one foods rich in zinc like milk, beans, peas, red meat, nuts, and seeds.

Fiber

The next on the line is fiber. It is indispensable for the health of the digestive tract. So, give your baby fruits, veggies, and whole-grain cereals to accomplish their fiber needs. However, too much fiber can make your loved ones full before their nutritional needs are met. Moreover, it can also cause diarrhea. Therefore, be careful with the quantity.

Fats

In the initial phase, babies require more fats, and they receive them from breast or formula milk. However, with time their fat needs decrease. It would be best to give them walnuts, avocado, milk, yogurt, cheese, and other good fat-rich foods as soon as they turn 1 year old.

Antioxidants

Feeding antioxidants is imperative to give your little munchkin a great mental jumpstart. Carrots, broccoli, sweet potatoes, and other foods rich in vitamin E are great sources of antioxidants. You can give them to infants to safeguard their brains from normal wear and tear.
